Detailed engineering survey, design, drawings, cost estimate and Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) study of Phewa Lake Waste Water Management Project

Project Description

Project is in Pokhara Metropolitan of Kaski District in Gandaki Province. The ultimate objective of the project is to improve water quality of Phew a Lake and to safeguard the public health of the people living near the Phewa lake side areas. The project is aimed to construct trunk sewers (main -5667m, secondary-3052m and lateral sewers -528m) along the shore Iine of Phewa Lake, convey the sewerage to the waste water treatment plant located at the end point of main trunk near to Phewa Power House site. The waste water treatment plant consists of Bar Screen, Grit Chamber, Primary Sedimentation, Activated Sludge Process, Sludge Thickener, Anaerobic Sludge Digester and Sludge Drying Bed. The proposed treatment plant provides secondary level treatment to the dry flows and treats excess waste water during wet season with cascade aeration and finally the waste products of the treatment plant are discharged to Phusre Khola. Proposed project has been designed for a period of 25 years.
