Detailed Architectural & Engineering Design of Ganatantra Stambha & Geotechnical Investigation at Gusingal, Lalitpur

 

Project Description

The proposed site for Ganatantra Stambha is located at Ward No. 2, Gusingal, Lalitpur Sub-Metropolitan City. The proposed Republic Memorial Tower is 84 metres high, R.c.c. framed structure which is a landmark visualized to evoke the historical moment of establishment of Republic system in Nepal. The plan form consists of three rectangles distributed equally about center point of the site along main axis indicating three geographical regions of Nepal viz. Himal, Pahad and Terai. These three Rcc piers tie up at different levels creating view decks which ultimately focus and merge at the apex, Indicating the ultimate achievement Republic. The basement floor is 1439.60 sq.m And ground floor is 1449.80 sq.m, which consists of various viewing gallaries, besides other spaces like administrative units, A/V hall, VIP lounge, rest rooms, stores etc, to mesmerize the achievement of peoples’ movement. The access to the tower for the disabled people has been well considered. There is a circular viewing deck of 260.15 sq.m at 21.6 meters& a hexagonal viewing deck of 100 sq.m at 54 meters. These viewing decks are accessed through a staircase and two elevators. The shaft of the tower is designed as RCC shear wall with window openings. It has a plinth area of1449.80 sq.m and a total floor area of 3249.55 sq.m. The landscape has been designed in a spiral fashion with proper blend of soft and hard landscaping materials. There is provision of outdoor parking space for around 60 four wheelers and 250 two wheelers.
